Dualrailleur Guide with Bottom Bracket Mount Inner Guide Plate Install instruction

Installation of this guide should only be done by a qualified bike mechanic.

After removing the original crankset remove the Bottom Bracket and remove the 2.5 mm spacer If there is no spacer on either side of your cranks you will need to get a wider BB if you have an ISIS BB you must have a 73mm X  118 spindle length, 63mm X 113 spindle length Many pure cross county cranks are not wide enough to accommodate the extra wide needed

Always use grease to lube the threads before reinstalling the bottom bracket

Install the provided spacer and the BB mount inner backing plate You will usually need to add the spacer before the Inner Plate but it depends on the application and clearance of the inner plate and the chain also the inner plate and any pivots on the frame. The Dualrailleur Guide comes with 1mm and a 1.5 mm spacer

Reinstall BB with the inner backing  plate snug the BB enough to be able to move the plate to align as needed

Remember to tighten the BB to proper torque specs once you have established the proper angle of the inner backing plate, and tighten the set screws to the frame to help the inner backing plate from moving

Install the Dualrailleur Guide on the frame as you would install a normal derailleur. There should be about a 10mm gap between the inner backing plate and the bottom of the Dualrailleur.

The inner side if the Dualrailleur and the inner backing plate should be about equal this us a good starting point as a inboard adjustment

Now you are reading to install the cranks set with bash guard.

Reinstall the cranks making sure the is enough clearance between the bash guard and the Dualrailleur 3mm – 5mm

Install and adjust the shifter cable for the granny gear then shift it into the middle ring in the middle ring position the Dualrailleur should set pretty even with the bash guard. This also depends in the thickness of the bash guard. Make sure that the Dualrailleur doesn’t interfere with cranks.

Install the chain as normal remembering to go over the roller. Check you clearance between the chain and the inner plate 3mm – 5mm, if the clearance is to great you may need to move the spacer between the inner backing plate and the frame

In the middle ring position you should have about 3mm – 5mm clearance between the chain and the inner polycarbon inner plate

Remember to adjust the derailleur not to go past the middle ring as normal

Shift the Dualrailleur into the granny gear the chain should drop as normal. At this point you should be able to adjust you derailleur as normal. Cycle through the front gears to insure shifting is smooth

Shift all gears in the rear as you would normally set up a bikes drive train.

It is not unusual for the chain to slightly touch the inside of the Dualrailleur inner plate In the large gear on the back cluster

Also slightly touch the outer guide plate in the small gear in the rear

Now the Dualrailleur should be set up also make sure the chain ride as normal on the lower roller. It should ride in the inner part of the wheel in the granny gear and in the middle of the wheel in the middle ring.

Check to insure all screws and bolts are tight on the Dualrailleur Guide, inner backing plate, and derailleur.

Once the drive train has been set up you need to check to insure the Dualrailleur has no issues as the suspension goes through its travel. This can be accomplished by letting the air out of the shock or removing the spring depending in the type of rear shock. This has most likely been tested if the bike has been certified to work with the Dualrailleur guide. Also test the chain growth and adjust as normal

At this point the bike should be ready to rock and roll. You may need to adjust shifter tension as normal if the cable stretched.
